Hybrid

Hybrids are an incredibly rare species with only one having ever been born (i.e. see Oliver McKinney). In short, to classify a hybrid, one must be the child of a lycan as well as a child of one of the following: vampire (non-pureblood), werefox (non-pureblood), shapeshifter, or elf. Their rare nature gives them an advantage in life as they are not easily detected, letting them roam as free as they can. Although, since Oliver is the only one in existence, it is unknown if anyone has figured out who he is or if they think he is a rogue.

Ignatius Williams: "For many years I have been searching for the she-lycan and never could I catch her trail. Ever since she found that mate of hers, she disappeared. But tonight, I think I have found her. There is this cabin in the Faery Woods that harbors a she-wolf, a male shifter, and a child. If my math is correct, this child is to be a hybrid. All these years of searching and waiting will finally pay off! Tonight, I will head to the cabin and capture her and the assumed hybrid specimen."

Bloodline of the Lycan

While a hybrid resembles a humanoid, as a child their wolf heritage began to emerge. This may take the form of furry ears and a long tail, being able to shift into a wolf, eyes taking on a golden glow with flames inside, summoning claws and canine teeth, or other exotic traits associated with the wolf.

The Shadows Coalition

While there are many paranormal species on Earth that are not aligned with the Shadows Coalition, this world is ruled by five major powers that may have influence - positive or negative - with hybrid characters. The Accord of Oblivion, fiery and vengful; the Bond of Silver, keepers of tradition and the past; the Chamber of Black Onyx, harsh with their formal discipline; the Sentinel of the Mystic, fluid and malleable; and the Shepherd Pact, cold, brutal, and calculating.

The Shadows Coalition have tolerated these organizations for a long time while maintaining balance. They have just one rule when it comes to the paranormals reproducing - no mixing new breeds of species that are unstable and unknown. The Shadows Coalition would only see these new breeds as a threat to be eradicated.

Impulsive and Wild

Hybrids are extremely rare, just like their lycan ancestors, but they may be found living in secret among their mortal relatives, or in the wilderness. When interacting with mortals, they will almost always conceal their werewolf heritage to avoid the wrath of the Shadows Coalition, which considers them akin to abominations.
The creatures of the Shadows Coalition are usually grouped with the Shifters or Mystic in mortal eyes, and interactions between mortals and the hybrids will be hidden from view. Although, the Slayers of the Accord of Oblivion will consider hybrids a stain with preconceived notions. Hybrids will often be considered flightly, mischievous, dangerous, and untrustworthy.
