Psychokinesis

Psychokinesis is the psionic discipline of affecting energy, traditionally to move objects (Telekinesis), but also to manipulate electromagnetic fields (Ergokinesis). Effects range from brute force applications like throwing or crushing objects, overloading electrical systems, etc., to fine manipulation like picking mechanical locks or creating electrical signals interpretable by machines.   By far, this power is most prevlanet among Ceteri who use it to great effect both offensively and defensively. Commonly reported powers include the ability to manipulate and throw objects at a distance, create kinetic barriers and shields, deflect or ablate lasers, and to burn out or disable electronics.   The Solarian Talos Project primarily focuses on more blatant offensive and defensive uses of psychokinesis for combat purposes. They also make use of finer contol of Telekinesis to grapple at a distance, or to manipulate objects like buttons, control pads, levers, etc.

Manifestation

Psychokinetic powers generally have very little or no sensorial manifestation beyond the actual effect. Undisciplined human users may cause sensations of pressure, static electricity, etc. in close proximity to the effect being created, but Ceteri rarely show such manifestations.

Discovery

Psychokinesis was first discovered during the Procyon Incident when Ceteri used it against members of Solaris Security Solutions Unit 253. Since then, it has been extensively observed in Ceteri, but never naturally in Uri or humans.   The first human psychokinetic powers were observed during the Haphaestus Project, when Felix Caron moved a pencil two inches after being implanted with Ceteri tissue. Since then, the Talos Project has implanted hundreds of humans with alien tissue resulting in this ability.
