The Inquisitorial Representative Rank/Title in Dark Heresy | World Anvil

The Inquisitorial Representative

The Inquisitorial Representative is the highest ranking member of the Inquisition, sitting with the High Lords of Terra.

Qualifications

The Inquisitional Representative has worked his way to the top of the Inquisition over decades if not longer. One of the senior Inquisitor Lords, he or she is chosen by the other lords to act as their representative.

Requirements

Decades or a century or more of service, and an impressive list of services carried out.

Appointment

Only the other Inquisitor Lords usually appoint the Representative. Rarely, the previous Representative will nominate a Lord for the role.

Duties

The Representative must attend the meetings with the other High Lords, speaking on behalf of the Inquisition, and overseeing the Inquisition in general terms only. He or she acts like the figurehead at all other times.

Benefits

The Representative lives any way they want but generally foregoes the basic duties of a field agent, concentrating on the Inquisitorial mandates in political circles. They are heavily protected and classed as an equal to all other High Lords. They can access the highest standards of services as befits their level, and has access to the best of the best in followers & equipment.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The Representative has clothing with the mark of the Inquisitorial Seal on it, and a ring marking him or her out. They usually have access to carapace armour, power armour and / or terminator armour, tweaked exclusively by the best Mechanicus artificers. Their weapons are master crafted rarities that function far beyond what any other Inquisitor has. Gear of any type is available though it is of a very rare and luxurious nature.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Like any Imperial citizen, they can be removed from office at any time due to their conduct. Sometimes this leads them to be demoted, forced out of the Inquisition, excommunicated and/or exiled, or even executed immediately depending on the situation. This is not necessarily easy to do, as information is key to the Inquisition so they may have some tucked away to cover themselves from the worst situations possible.
