Sphere of the Night Sky
A lost Artifact
The Sphere of the Night Sky is a beautiful and old artifact that holds immense magical power. The artifact was briefly known to be in the hands of the Dysvollean Archeological Society who claimed it to be of fae origin. However, the Archeological society is no longer in possession of the Sphere, though they refuse to disclose why.
However, when brought into the human realm, the Sphere suddenly has immense power. The strong light energy which radiates from the artifact can repel Dark Entities up to a certain distance. These creatures ravage and plague Dysvoll, and the Sphere would therefore be greatly helpful to any human.
I only saw it once, but I remember it as clear as day! It was simply stunning. It had a sphere made of light blue-tinted crystal, which was still see-through. Inside the sphere were hovering star constellations that gleamed and sparkled. The crystal Sphere was held up by intricate golden legs connected to a dark wooden plate. It had a golden emblem embedded in the wood, where the sphere was held over, it looked like the light mark! I never saw it again after that day, and I don't dare to ask about it...
A powerful decoration
The Dysvollean Archeological Society was correct in its assessment, the Sphere of the Night Sky was indeed made by the fae. However, the Society was wrong about its intended function. They theorised it was made to predict the night sky or to make prophecies. However, the truth is much more simple than that. It was simply made to be a pretty decoration depicting the current star formations, and made to entertain kids.
However, the artifact does hold some power, since it has been infused with a large dose of Primal Light to ensure that it kept working in the intended way.
This had no real benefit in the realm of the light fae, as most things were at least partly infused with the naturally occurring light.
No one truly knows what happened with the Sphere, or at least no one has spoken up about it. I always thought it to be logical that it was the work of The Garnet Hand.
