Lumetti Aterie

The Magic Students' first meal

The magical community in Vatnsil stays as hidden as it can. They do not hide from the rest of the community, but rather everyone knows and it is a community effort to ensure the government of Ashilder doesn't find out.   To ensure everyone is safe from the ani-magic laws, there are many rules about when and how Fae Marked children are allowed to learn magic. To ensure that no big and eye-catching accidents happen, the towns-folk themselves produce a substance called Prohibum through Prohibum Making. This substance dims the magical output so that the new magic students can have training wheels before they get to use their magic to its full potential.   The first time they try the prohibum is during the Lumetti Aterie. This ritual is usually held on the longest day of the summer. All of the children and people who have been deemed ready to undergo magic school gather together to prepare a group meal. The meal is cooked with prohibum. When they've cooked together, they sit down with their new teacher and enhoy a hearty plate of food.   The students are supposed to bond both with each other and with their teachers during the evening, and when the sun finally sets, their first magic lesson begins. This evening marks their first step to becoming a full-fledged magic user.
