Guards of the Servant

Those who protect the leader

The Guards of the Servant, sometimes just referred to as GS's, are a highly skilled and trained group of guards who are in charge of the security and safeness of the Refined Servant of Neklian. These individuals undergo vigorous training and testing before they are allowed to step into the ranks of the GS.

The need for protection

For years after the founding of Neklian and establishing the role of Refined Servant, the inhabitants and the leader saw no need for protection. It was a tight-knit community and everyone was seen as equal. No one seemed to harbour malicious intent towards one another, and not against the leader either. However, this peace didn't last.

Outside influence

When it became known that there were gems in Neklian, many flocked to the city to trade their way into a fortune. People from Kanden were especially quick there, and while most were honourable, there were some bad apples in the mix. One person tried to attack the then-current Refined Servant in an attempt to gain knowledge of where the gem mines were.   This prompted immediate outrage from the people of Neklian, and the Neklians decided that their town and leader would need protection. They didn't see the refined servant as being different from themselves, but they realised that others did, and this put a target on their leader's back.

Establishing Safety

In 916 ADF the Guards of the Servant was officially established. The group was comprised of the best fighters and Spell-casters the town had to offer. At first, this ragtag group was not the most skilled or trained, but over the years, an extensive training program was made to ensure all the guards were up to the task of protecting the leader.

The Refined Servant is the title of the leader of Neklian. Meant to reflect that the leader leads for their people and not for their own gain.
