Frozen Sea

The Frozen Sea is the barren expanse to the North of Corswain. It is the Northern polar region of Danarth with the North Pole being in the rough center of the sea.

Geography

The Frozen Sea is miles of ice sheets with occasional cracks in the ice, either naturally formed or carved by the fauna of the region. Beneath the ice are pillars of stone that reach hundreds of feet from the sea floor where thermal vents provide the only heat. Average temperatures range from 32°F to -40°F depending on the time of year and distance from the pole.

Fauna & Flora

No plant life lives above the ice and there are few species that live on the rock pillars, but the sea floor is teeming with plant life. Seals, Arctic birds, and a few mammals can be found on the edge of the sea, but deeper into the sea less and less life is found. Many species of fish can be found under the ice and the sea floor is abundant with all manner of sea life.
