Moon Madiens
Moon Maidens are a group of warrior women that upon their last minutes of life were saved by the Moon Goddess Orlana. Moved by their bravery she asks if they like to join her and she blesses them with powers and the promise to serve her. Upon the agreement their eyes change to a glowy light blue and they are marked by tattoos that are burned into their skin by the goddess's own blood.
Part of this exchange as well is that Orlana keeps their soul in a necklace that she wears, gifted by Lefu himself. Because of this they can never be killed or die and heal fast from their injuries. The goddess can only have as many warriors as there are beads on the necklace, if she wants someone new to join and she has no room she has to retire another Maiden.
They have the ability to turn one man into a Mik at their choosing. Most of these men that get turned are done so out of either revenge or in jest. The ones turned in revenge are usually kept as permanent steeds for their rider until they deem they are worthy enough to return to their original form.
Because of their near death at the time of their blessing, they are unable to procreate.
Most Moon Maidens are chosen because they caught the Goddess's eye during their life. While they all do share the common trait of them being a fighter in some compacity, it is their sense of duty and honor that wins the Goddess's attention.
Black Moon is considered the 'leader' of the group right under the Goddess, but since she she barely around the title really applies to Jodoca Iohane.
Many of the Maidens are C'asalia's in part of how their culture is as well as their share of dislike of males. This can sometimes cause some conflict within the group when they don't agree on this mindset.
