Home Architecture in Trebury

Within the heavily wooded lands of Trebury, the races with deep connections to nature flourish. Since they live within areas heavy with trees and living flora, they use it heavily in their buildings throughout the Capital region.

Purpose / Function

They are the common form of building used within the region for all purposes, with homes being the most common.

Alterations

Over time, simple changes were made to allow more flora and fauna accessibility through homes and the surrounding areas. Various forms of plants are seen growing in or on homes, allowing critters more places to nest and live in return.

Architecture

The homes in the area are typically built into or around living trees. They can be located at it's base, with the tree growing up through the buildings, or up in the boughs, carved into the tree (Or trees) itself. Druids of various races can bend and weave trees at times to accommodate buildings, but always take the plant within consideration as well when doing so. Finally, for some, using wood itself to construct the homes is also fairly common. If the building were to have vast stores of product or the like, it is also much more common for it to be kept closer to the ground.

History

The city started as a refuge for those that bound themselves to nature, but could not find a land that could fulfill that longing. With the lands that later became Trebury were found, the people rejoiced. Those that still had the talent to work with the natural forces did so, while the others took advantage of the heavy forests and built a land that brought all closer to nature.

The closeness to nature brings in a very calming sense of living. It also allows for living that doesn't impede on the local natural resources and living creatures that help the rest of the environment survive and renew itself.
