As Ilesis, God of Victory, ascended to his place among the Minor Gods, the world of Riiaz was fundamentally changed. The five continents were forced together, unifying the inhabitants. With the revival and subsequent silencing of the Gods, divine influence has vanished, though the holy power of Clerics and Paladins has stayed. In the center of Dale rules the Overking over a shattered Dalerian Empire, once the most powerful mortal in Dale, though he still holds power over the nearby princedoms that still accept his authority. To the East lies a newly forged nation, the Nightdawn Order. Founded by Nara Tava, the Tyrant of the East, and Tavietan, the Penumbra. Little is known by outsiders of the Order. The North is ruled by the Holy Emperor and the Council of Oaths. The Holy Ones rule with an iron hand, but are fair and just. The Western Alliance is a closely woven group of merchants and monks inspired by the ancient ways of the Tareniel. Finally, the floating city of Nethe, the hub for magic for the world of Dale.
