Stormbrave
Stormbrave is a title given to the sailors who witnessed a Yellow Storm and lived to tell the tale. In conjunction with fruitless Dain sea exploration of the north and west (or the south and west for Zea), Yellow Storms played a significant role in lack of development in seafaring technology. For decades, until the Brave's journey to Zea and back, vast majority of ships have been built only for fishing or coastal transit.
Yellow Storms
The Yellow Storms are unexplained weather phenomena occurring to the east of Dain and Zea. A Yellow Storm begins, when an area of water begins glowing bright yellow. The light comes from under the water and can cover vast distances, impossible to measure without risking casualties. Almost immediately, the light is accompanied by unnatural changes in temperature, wind and air pressure, This, together with extreme amounts of quickly evaporating water, results in a storm developing within minutes and covering the area with hail and scalding rain. A ship caught near the epicenter is as good as gone, but there have been cases of those illuminated just on the edge of the Yellow Storm. Most of them turn back as quickly as they can, but some of them go a step further.
The sinking ruins
It is unknown if it's a side effect or the cause of the Storms, but whenever one occurs, a small landmass is brought to the surface of the ocean. If a ship's crew is brave enough, they can attempt to make a landing and explore, hoping to escape before the isle sinks back down to the bottom. The sinking is usually very slow, nontheless, any ship too close risks being caught up in sudden whirlpools and crushed by unexpected waves. Exploration of the sunken ruins led to discovery of several instences of Extan texts and a few small trinkets. Most of them are now being analyzed at the Erwy University.

Most of the sailors who boast of braving the Yellow Storm are already legendary in the community, as those who were pushing sea explorations to its limits through northern and western expeditions. There were instances of ships purposefully entering the Storm territory, but very few of them encountered a Yellow Storm and fewer still lived to tell the tale. More Stormbraves will appear in the coming years, as the star maps leading from Dain to Zea are still being perfected, and excessive drift east may become an unexpected opportunity for the travellers to prove themselves.

It is unknown, whether the 'Toma and the sunken treasure' fairytale refers to a inland Yellow Storm. The story has some undeniable similarities, but, in the living memory, a Storm has never been observed in any body of water other then the ocean.
