Eons ago, the cosmic powers that be delivered a seed to the earth. A smoldering, dry ball of sand floating through space was soon given new life. From the seed sprouted a tree, and from the tree sprouted life. The roots of this tree, The Heart, spread out across the world's surface and shaped it to their liking.   The Heart brought life, and life brought weather. The dips in the land filled with water, birthing seas and vast oceans. Given time, the world and life itself evolved. The races of the world emerged, and societies formed. Soon enough, the world learned how to harness a newfound power. Magical energy began to pour through the roots of The Heart, and magic was born.   The magic, however, came from a dark source. There could not be magic without bloodshed. In the years following magic's discovery, those in the know discovered another world they referred to as The Parallishade. This alternate world had people of its own, and it was the lives of these people that were sacrificed to create the magical power the world's inhabitants harnessed.   In some ways, this made magic easier to harness to those who really wanted it. Powerful beings have begun to formulate ways to take this energy for themselves. They have little regard for the lives of those in The Parallishade, and as energy is drawn into the world, The Parallishade shrinks in both size and population.
