Daedala

Quick Overview   Daedala is a large technological-based city where magic is illegal in a magically-based world. The layout of Daedala itself is similar to that of Paris, consisting of three different sectors, divided into three parts per sector. These sectors are known as the inner sectors, middle sectors, and outer sectors, divided into sectors 1.1-3, 2.1-3, and 3.1-3 respectively. Originally a city that thrived with both technology and magic, Daedala became harsh and isolated after a tragic event, followed by fear-mongering, which led to its quick ban on magic. The city houses a relatively homogeneous race of humans, as generations of isolation have kept humans of outside countries from intermingling. Roughly half a million people live in Daedala, with the middle and outer sectors housing the most citizens at 30% of the population each. The inner sectors follow behind at 25%, with the capitol housing the remaining 15%. The citizens of Daedala are self-sufficient, trading and working amongst themselves to provide their own food and materials, though they can hold expeditions to gather more resources outside their borders if needed. Living in Daedala can be wonderful - as long as you're not part of the lower class, not female, and not proficient with magic. Considering how roughly third of the population doesn't fit that bill, many citizens struggle from day to day to meet ends, pay taxes, and live what lives they can.
