Sagani Coral Fans
"Consider the Sagani Fans,
how they dance in the sea,
they do not wonder, nor stress,
All they do is grow and dance...
We should be like the fans..." - Translations of Galigoni Poems, Ralmen Shou

Material Characteristics
Sagani Coral Fans are soft corals that come in a variety of colors formed from living colonies of polyps which consume particulate matter. Sagani Coral Fans are very flexible, and often rustle in the water currents of the coast. Each fan is usually composed of one color usually. The most common colors are Orange, Red, Blue, Purple, and Gold.
Physical & Chemical Properties
The Coral Fans are rough, as they are created from the skeletons of expired polyps. They are very spongy, and full of holes, so incredibly light.

Sagani Coral Fans are tropical corals found only in the Goligani Islands, specifically around the Island of Sagani. The Coral Fans are found in shallower waters, primarily in areas of higher current movement.
History & Usage
History
The Tortle scholar, Drasen Tort, discovered in 1247 BE the alchemic process of dissolving the calcium from the coral fans. This process is able to turn the relatively tough Sagani Coral Fans. It was Drasen Tort only 15 years late, that began the task of learning the ecology and growing habits of the Sagani Coral Fans. It was not until Shelor Thaw, another scholar, 95 yrs later discovered the ability to cultivate the Sagani Coral Fans. As of this moment, though there have been attempts to industrialize the means of production for Sagani Cloth, no strides have been made, and the production of Sagani Cloth is a Cottage Industry.
Everyday use
The alchemically transformed Coral Fans can be spun into a water repellent cloth, smoother than silk, referred to as Sagani Cloth. Most fabrics do not work well in the salty ocean, while the salty water strengthens the fabrics of Sagani Cloth. High end cloth for water dwelling species tend to be made of the Coral Fans.
Cultural Significance and Usage
When Emperor Calios completed the annexation of the entire Galigoni Archipelago in 350 AE for the Galinian Imperium. He was presented with a robe of finely spun, brightly colored Sagani Cloth during the Unification Celebration.
