The Theocracy of Sanc Ambar
Sanc Ambar is named for the god that they worship, once a halfling that, believing his family members to have been taken from this life too soon by Utumbe, god of time, set out on a quest to kill the god. He ultimately succeeded but also inherited the god’s responsibilities, and returned to the canyon to discover that a full century had passed since he left, his family had forgotten him, and he took up residence in the chapel, preaching his own story and life lessons and attracting a messiah-like following. As others began to take up his lessons and share them, Sancambar began to fade, eventually disappearing completely while the Church of Sanc Ambar became the lawmaking body of the small canyon state.Sancambar is known in Salonikan (as well as other nations') legend as an epic hero, but the seclusion of the city-state has led most people to believe that Utumbe’s Canyon is entirely uninhabited.
