The Lindon Territory

To the northeast of Lilligoth Lake, there is a lush forested valley winding between the hills of Sethrapalure. This valley is known in Salonika as the Spine, for its curved path between the hills. The Spine is home primarily to the usual woodland creatures, There are three main tribes of elves in Lindon, each with a leader (a non-gendered role, that has kept the title of Patron) who corresponds frequently with the Archdruid, often spending alternating weeks or even months in the Archdruid’s houses. Similar to Ostirion, they have four seasonal gatherings, but the wood elves’ are less formal and more social. The three tribes are referred to as Northern, Southern and Lakeside, despite all being very similar in latitude.   The Archdruid of Lindon acts as lawmaker and mediator for the three tribes, as well as taking responsibility for any foreign relations that become necessary. (They haven't been necessary for a few centuries, but the current Archdruid did attend the coronation of Empress Galina.)

Demography and Population

When the nation of Lindon was established in the Spine, it was a single tribe of wood elves. It's since grown and become far more diverse as druids and treehuggers of all races have sought out a less urban environment.

Territories

The territory of Lindon is roughly from the edge of the Withering Plain to the bank of Lilligoth Lake. Despite being such a small community, Salonika (and more recently Mitheach) is respectful of their sovereignty and has not infringed on this territory in any way. (This is due in part to the rumor that the wood elves of Lindon are soul-bound to the trees, and are not only nigh immortal, but they are also able to awaken the trees and use them as an army in case of attack. )

Religion

Lindoners are more spiritual than religious; their allegiance is first to the forests and second to the Archdruid. Some are followers of Sune, Meilikki, or Turen, but this faith is always personal in practice.

Agriculture & Industry

Lindon is rich in druidic magics and enjoys consistent harvests of a variety of fruits and vegetables throughout the year. They make their homes in an interconnected web of tree houses, which allows the majority of the forest floor to be dedicated to crops. Many of these are local - berries, root vegetables, squashes - but some magic users are more creative in their agricultural endeavors, with projects like miniature corn, and citrus bushes. They also have a flourishing artistic community. The Lindoners that travel to Salonika or Mitheach are most commonly craftspeople; usually jewellers, tailors, and musicians, seeking new materials to experiment with or simply a wider market.

Currency
Lasseli (gilded flowers) are used in formal transactions, bartering for goods and favors is more common. Often the lasseli are sewn into the fabric of clothes as ornamentation. One lasseli is equivalent to two silver and five lasseli to one gold piece in the gold standard.
