The Feywild

The Feywild can best be visualised as a net stretching over the entirety of Custudio. But this net does not physically exist, and cannot be reached by flight or any other mundane means. This net metaphysically interacts with Custudio; usually only at intersections of the North-South and East-West “strands”. But occasionally storms in The Ethereal Plane cause the strands to touch Custudio in other places. This allows for temporary overlapping of these realities. Time flows differently within the Feywild, and differs depending on the direction of the strand (see below). The atmosphere of the NS and EW strands also differs wildly. The geography of the Feywild resembles that of a planet that is shaped like a cylinder; as with a net, the “world” of the Feywild exists on the surface of its threads. Within the Feywild, intersections (called “Fey Crossings”) can be crossed quite easily by going over or under the other strand. The environment is quite hostile, though, but far more so when attempting to enter Custudio. This is similar to what happens on Custudio at these places. Getting into and out of the Feywild is therefore usually not a task to be undertaken lightly. The Feywild was created by Kreinta in their sadness at the need to abandon Kreinta’s central point of creation. This sadness (blue) was split into Green and Purple, representing the Lucky lands, and the Hermits’ paths, respectively.

Geography

Living on the Feywild is similar to living on the outside of a massive cylinder. Each strand can be encircled within a week or so, but extend laterally to encircle all of Da'zhaar. The geography is as varied as on Custudio, but is coloured by a touch of unearthly beauty, giving the Feywild its characteristic appeal. For instantce, mountains sparkle with seemingly precious gems that fade to mundane rock upon closer inspection; the leaves of trees rustle with wind barely felt, sounding like whispered laughter.

Fauna & Flora

Plants and animals in the Feywild often grow far larger than their counterparts on Custudio. They often become more colourful than normal, and some can even learn to speak. They are also unafraid of mortals, and usually responsive to attempts at friendship. All creatures in the Feywild, however, despise demons and their associates, and will attack them on sight.

Natural Resources

Food in the Feywild is plentiful and easily accessible, since many trees bear extremely succulent fruit with great nutritional properties. Many fey lords can command the trees to bear fruit to feed an army, if required. These fruits are dangerous to fiends, however, and may be distilled into the druidic version of holy water. There are also a few trees known as Solvbrand (pronounced "Sullv'-brand") which have a silvery bark. A fey lord may ask the tree to sacrifice its bark to make a weapon for them, which is shaped to the fey lord's wishes, and is ejected from the tree within 1 minute as a silver weapon. Any other creature must make a persuasion check (DC20 for 5 arrows; 23 for a dagger/10 arrows; 26 for light weapons; 30 for normal weapons; 35 for heavy/two-handed weapons). After the weapon is produced, the Solvbrand cannot make another weapon for 3+1d4 days. The Solvbrandae are sentient, and know what their weapons are used for; selling them or using them against a fey lord without very good reason will mean that the individual can never gain this favour from a Solvbrand again.
