Session 2: The Northern Outposts
General Summary
The final day of the Snowfell festivities included various competitions that the duo participated in. After strong performances in a variety of competitions, including ones that they should not have done well in during the previous days, the duo continued showing off their skills in contests such as magic trick shots, dart trick shots, and a variety of strength-based competitions. After the closing ceremonies, the duo met with the Enchantress and exchanged their festival badge for a number of magic items.
The next morning brought news of a quest through the Dagger Guild. Odd occurrences were happening near the Northern Lookout Tower that needed to be investigated. The duo were given the quest by Faelyn Lightfoot and were given a day to prepare before being escorted to the tower by a veteran member of the Knights of Yggdrasil.
The duo spent the day preparing, talking with a number of people to get the goods to survive a week in winter conditions. After their day of preparations, Airdan Ylyndar led the duo to the lookout tower where they met with the current paladin on duty and learned of some of the odds happenings. Camp was made and the duo turned in for the night.
Their first day at the tower brought bears entering their camp late at night as well as a run-in with a group of goblins and a hobgoblin a short distance from the tower. They had been told that there was a goblin cave in the area, but it was about two miles south east of the tower.
