Module #1: Snowfell

Written by RiverFang

Snowfell has fallen on the 17 of Winter’s Morning, a light dusting of snow upon the cobblestone roads and paths of Yllvalion. Head Knight Elduin Ylyndar had put out the call for the Snowfell a week ago, and the city was already bustling in the early morning hours of the first day of the festival. Merchants carry some of their wares to small tents that have been set up around the main courtyard. The youngest paladin of the Ylyndars begins to light the roaring bonfire that is the centerpiece of the celebration’s courtyard.   Thezgig receives the call to speak with one of his normal problems, Corril Bisharp, a fortuneteller. Some of the tired travelers had fallen into the trap of Corril’s silver tongue and complained to the guards. Thezgig was dispatched to diffuse the situation, but the pair instead found their way to the festival. All Knights of Yggdrasil were given time to attend and participate in the festival if they wished, but were to keep their weapons on them and remain vigilent at all times.   Those that wish to participate in the games of the festival are required to bring either: 5 days’ rations, 10 torchers, 2 bedrolls, or pay 10 gp. Once the entry fee has been paid, entrants are given either 50 or 100 Snowfell tokens based upon their contribution. These tokens are then used to participate in a variety of contests as well as enter the hotsprings.   Participations in the festivities have the ability to win a variety of colored badges based upon what place they receive in a contest. These badges can then be traded in to the Enchantress for a variety of items. A participant needs at least 5 badges of any one type to gain the reward but higher level badges can be turned in for lower level rewards: 3 gold badges = 5 silver badges, 3 silver badges = 5 bronze badges.   Gold badges – enough gold badges will grant a player a +1 weapon of their choice   Silver badges – enough silver badges will grant a player an item that can cast a cantrip 2x per day   Bronze badges – enough bronze badges will grant a player a set of 5 beads of nourishment
