Session 9: Starlit Tower Report

General Summary

The party inquired about a job posting for the Tower and after being joined by another adventurer who was seeking to cash in on the same job, they were pointed to the headmaster's study. The Vampire Wizard met with the party in a darkened room and welcomed them to the Academy, taking care to be specific about the nature of the job and the reason for allowing adventurers to move about in the tower after dark as well as a warning to take nothing from the tower outside of its walls. He specified that the desk attendant would let them into the tower at midnight and they would be allowed to rid the basement of Bogarts so that they wouldn't continue to ravage supplies during the night.
The party returned later that night and set about to explore the basement promptly, the first door that they opened immediately interrupted the destruction of a spellbook room whilst a dozen bogarts enjoyed the chaos. The party gave chase, smashing and slashing to rid the first basement floor of the pesky creatures while making careful use of their Scrying Orb to look beyond doors and avoid ambushes. Significant rooms that they cleared:
1. A storage room for inks where they discovered the invisible graffiti and troublesome writings of bogarts along with one that seemed to belong to a small creature other that was quite different and it read "I am afraid."
2. A room that appeared to be a trash chute of some kind that led all the way to the third level of the basement, they discovered it by avoiding an ambush where two bogarts jumped Patch and attempted to push him to his death but he promptly avoided it and returned the favor. The party was able to deduce that the pit at the bottom was empty but it should have had something like a gelatinous cube at the bottom to dissolve trash and magical implements.
