Duchy of Bredon

The Duchy of Bredon (BRAY-dun) is a duchy within the Grand Duchy of Devarin. It is located in the south west on the shore of the Maglam Ocean. The current Duke is Gylex Knyne, 22nd Duke Bredon.

History

The Duchy of Bredon is one of the oldest duchies in the entire nation. It started as a part of the Kingdom of Edror in 531, created by the then King, Reshum Ruhkum, and held by the ruler. After the political union of Edror and its neighbor, the Kingdom of Drostan, Bredon was declared the capital duchy and the seat of the new Kingdom of Enerias.
In 976, when the throne was usurped by Walde Noke from his half-brother, Siemarel Ruhkum, 10th King Enerias, Walde placed a family loyal to himself as the holders of the duchy, selecting House Knyne for the task.

Economy

The chief export of Bredon is its large amounts of livestock. Bredon ships many types of animal products across the nation, both butchered and living, using varieties of spells and magic items to keep the meats preserved. Some of the most common types of animals include cattle, sheep, pigs, deer, and chicken.
