The Au'Marui Ruins Report

General Summary

Investigating the Ruins

Glancing about, the party recognized the danger before them. With multiple automatons guarding the ruins, they knew they were in for quite a fight. However, they did not spot the mechanical dragons perched in the trees, turning the tide of battle in favor of the guardians. However, the party worked together effectively and dispatched the creatures guarding the device. Left intact, this one was much easier to investigate, and the party took their time with it.   They discovered a ring of stones built around a glass lens that was filled with black, viscous liquid. The runes matched those they had seen before, and they were able to spot the familiar sigil of Celniana Inaxi Elsys Carnove. After determining enough investigation had been done, the lens was broken, and the machine began to power down. Dewinn went as far as to cast Gust into the hole, applying as much pressure backwards against the liquid as possible. Cracking and draining was heard from the pipes that led underground.

An Encounter with Au'Marui

While investigating the Badger statue, an effigy to the Demigod Au'Marui, Yendor De'sic was approached by a family of three badgers. Speaking to him in his mind, the badgers looked at him and spoke: 'I am so hungry, won't you share your meal with a poor animal?'. Yendor, cautious, provided ration for the animals to consume, which they did hurriedly.   The badgers vanished into a strange green mist, and a tall, auburn haired Fae creature stood before Yendor. He introduced himself as Au'Marui, and spoke to Yendor of his great, great grandfather, Ilthas, who he had met long ago. He asked Yendor if he was prepared to fulfill his family's end of the bargain, which confused Yendor, but he suspected that some of the details of the story had been lost to the ages. A compartment opened, and Yendor was tasked with ensuring a bundle of scrolls was delivered to the coven of Au'Marui still active in the Waesmanor Forest. Yendor accepted, and Au'Marui disappeared.

Toward the Final Lens

The party boarded their vessel and made way to the final island, suspected to contain the third lens. Postulating that the lens was transforming and sending some sort of energy or power, the party believed that it may be what helps to animate the strange constructs they have been facing.   However, en route to the final island, the party witnessed the opening of a great whirlpool in the lake. From the maw of the rushing water rose multiple boats. Three took off toward The Town on Macaran, and the final pursued their vessel. The party braced for impact as the pursuers prepared to ram them.
