Hearthstone Earrings

Created by Melf in the Year of the Pelican, these unique and powerful earrings allow the wearer to tap into the communications network of the Cocks of Cydonia. They also act as teleportation nodes, allowing fast travel to the location of a person wearing them. Requires attunement.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Anyone wearing an earring can put their finger to their ear and say the name or names of the person or people they are trying to contact. The target will hear a short crackle followed by the voice of the person contacting them. Communication is near-instant and works across vast distances. As the distance increases signal degradation may occur, manifesting as a sort of white noise.
The earrings may be "targeted" by the teleportation circle in the Dank Cave. One must stand in the portal room and shout the name of the person they are attempting to teleport to. They will then appear in the nearest empty 5-foot square to the target. If that person has lost their earring long enough to lose attunement, nothing happens.
Anyone wearing the earring can spend 3 rounds concentrating on the phrase "there's no place like a Dank Cave" to teleport back to the portal room. At the end of the 3 rounds they must shout the incantation, or nothing happens.
