DnD X 10.3

General Summary

6HYP: Early in the morning, Lucille bakes some cookies before quietly leaving with Melf through the teleport pad, heading to Vestibule. Phearie soon follows, with Aylia departing in a flighted form to do some intelligence gathering.   Arriving in town, the tall restauranteur and diminutive girl rent some horses. They ask about the town to the north, but the stablehand isn’t able to tell them much other than its name (Soulriver) and that it’s due north of Vestibule, like, very directly north. He even draws them a map.   9HYP: Aylia arrives at her destination: Mount Vulkan. The volcano stretches up into the sky, well past the clouds. At the top Aylia finds two druid priests performing magical maintenance on the volcano, and a strange looking shrine with Ryloch’s symbol carved deeply into it many times. She tries valiantly to destroy the shrine, going as far as to make the earth around it explode violently, but is unable to make a single mark.   Crossing over the caldera and morphing back to her usual form, Aylia goes to speak to the two druid priests. One of them introduces himself as Steve XIV, and offers food and shelter while she waits for an audience with Geoff (GEE-off) to discuss her spirit quest.   Meanwhile, Lucille arrives at Soulriver with Melf and Phearie close behind. The atmosphere is strangely quiet. They press forward into the town, noting the strange absence of any and all residents. Lucille notices the local tavern, and rushes inn to find a bar full of zombies. Lucille teleports away, leaving Melf to deal with them. Unfortunately, the noise they made busting down the bar door attracted more zombies, and Lucille is forced to find refuge on top of a nearby house. Phearie manages to take out most of the zombies outside, with Melf coming back to finish the rest once the ones in the bar are unalived. The three of them hole up in the bar, with Phearie and Lucille barricading the windows and doors while Melf begins work on a teleportation circle to link the town to the guild’s network.   10HYP: Melf finishes casting the teleportation circle, successfully creating a link between Soulriver and the Dank Cave. Lucille makes good use of this, porting to Ceres and back with a small contingent of Dai Li and clearing the town of all remaining zombies.
