Arcanum Destructus
Getting in is not harder than getting out. A grueling process to make yourself a part of the family, sure, but a terrible fate awaits those who think they can leave the Wolf's Claws so soon. You will enter your life into a game without any knowledge, and this time you will be the prey, and many new family members will not hesitate to "Destruct their Opposition."
Structure
They treat themselves as a clan. The clan head is the Omah (Boss). Working with the Omah is a personal advisor, who acts as the 'Second in Command' for the entire clan. They are called the Venishu (Advisor). Under the Omah are three Ernath Omah (Underbosses). Each Ernath Omah has a Selkerdrim (Captain) for their family. Those Selkerdrims have Tans or Nys (lieutenants) if they so choose. And finally, the Niath are the underlings, basically. They are the goons.
Public Agenda
Magic used to be rampant on the streets. People got away with whatever they wanted and prices for enchanted goods were unchecked. Arcanum Destructus sets a price for each magical good, let it be potions or weapons. Plus, if any strong artifact is on the market, they are the first ones to take it off market.
Assets
Nearly a thousand in it's ranking, each member of the organization is put through training to learn the ins and outs of magic and magical items. If they don't make the cut, they are pushed back to civilian life with their mind wiped.
The organization, not only having most control over black-market magic trade in central Elostia, has access to those goods as well. Plus, having been used, not officially, to resolve the "lootings", or resource allocation after city raids in war's past, they have many legendary commodities at their disposal.
History
As the first nations started to form, those who were 'magically gifted' thought it wise to use their powers to exploit the weak and helpless. A small band of heroes rose to settle an organization to control the limit on casting and magical item crafting. However, powers unchecked led the organization down a dark path. Now, nearly two hundred years later and through many conflicts, Aracanum Destructus is merely a shadow of it's former self. Similar to that of a crime family, the clan is part of the government, used to crack down on magic trade, rake in tolls and import tax, assert authority over magic businesses, and be generally corrupt to the bone.
"The Lawmaker" now runs Arcanum Destructus. He is a known criminal who takes over existing clans and uses each as a stepping stone, getting more and more powerful with each one he takes over. He uses a magical dagger named "Flitfang" as his main weapon of killing. They say he is immortal and not human, not needing to eat, drink, or breathe. He is either an intelligent golem or genie-born. Stone skin and eyes like the sun, he is an intimidating presence in person.
