Wiggleworms
They like to dance.
Wiggleworm is a common name for a caterpillar of the Moon Moth. Those on their own are not particularly interesting moth species - they are of a dark blue colour that is almost black at times, depending on the region they live in, and they have a pale white moon crescent on their wings - hence their name. While certainly looking quite cute, they can be rather annoying as any other moth species, especially because their caterpillars like to devour clothing or any natural fibres they can find or infest stored foods, particularly grains. Getting rid of them is nearly impossible unless you are willing to burn whatever they got into this time.
However, this particular species of moth actually gets bred on special kind of insect farms, because the squished forms of these tiny little black worms produce a high quality ink that is the only one that can be used to inscribe powerful magical scrolls and books. No other ink or pigment has such high magical potential as this one. And with the ever increasing acceptance of magicians into normal human society, the business with the wiggleworm ink has been booming. This is also the reason why moths and Moon Moths in general are a popular sign associated with witches - even more popular than black cats and owls.
Wiggleworms got their particular name because these catepillars like to move around and are surprisingly fast an active for a bunch of tiny little worms. They also like music and will sway around to a particular rhythm, which is the only thing capable of pacifying and slowing them down and allowing the moth farmers to keep their little wiggly babies in check before they grow enough to be squished and inkified.
This is not a business for the faint hearted as you need to squish and breed a lot of moths for a tiny bottle of ink, but if you don't really care about what you are wearing and fashion is a swear word in your vocabulary, this is actually quite an easy way to get rich fast. And you get to listen to music quite often.
