Hidden behind a waterfall along the upper Lwanza in the northeast of Caetica near the Pilaani colonial outpost of Nogossi, the tomb of Corbantir is one of the few remaining relics of a time when Giants were relatively common in the region with a network of settlements united under various warlords for a period of about 1500 years. Infighting and resource pressures weakened these communities and dissolved the larger political structures, though isolated clans of giants can still be found deep in the jungles near sites rich enough in food, water and protection to sustain them. Corbantir was not the last of his clan, but he was evidently the last king of his clan to be able to afford such an elaborate tomb inside the holy mountain of Memnor. Later kings favored the cremation of their body and their grave goods, to be scattered by giant eagles among the clouds. The wanton destruction of so much material wealth likely hastened the collapse of their society even more so than the sequestering of treasures in tombs, as at least tombs might be looted and some of the wealth returned to circulation. However most of Corbantir's tomb is evidently intact, due to the very active guardians, wards, traps and monsters within.
