Shocking Criminal Ring Exposed at Orphanage of St. Ulven's
Dateline: Khazigur Palerine District, Southside; 22 Typhoneth's month, 12089: A pitched battle between city authorities and criminal elements inside the Orphanage of the Sisters of St. Ulven ended with multiple deaths and injuries this afternoon. Shockingly, these were not outside criminals but in fact, members of the cloistered order itself. Significant evidence of bookkeeper tampering, illegal gun and explosives smuggling, and sentient trafficking was exposed at the orphanage by city authorities, erupting into violence as the accused refused to go willingly to prosecution and likely execution. As a result, the orphanage bookkeeper, Sister Ammalee, as well as the headmistress, Sister Proserpina, lost their lives, along with a number of additional sisters of the order.
Adding to the shock is the finding that in fact, the order was a front for Ophitic Cult elements inside the city, meaning they were not merely tax-dodgers, slavers, and hoarders of materials that should rightly be sent to aid the efforts in the War in the West, but they were also blasphemers and heretics. In response to these events, the Celestii Bishopric has made an official statement that after a review of the facts they have every intention of excommunicating the entire order, so thoroughly was the corruption found to have spread.
The children under the care of the orphanage have been moved to foster care or to other facilities, pending the likely closure of the Orphanage of St. Ulvens after a more thorough investigation can be conducted in coming days.
