Trekonila

Government

When it was founded, a king ruled supreme over the land. However, the king decided to give up most of his power to a council of elders and remain as a figure head. New members to the council of elders is nominated by the king, but officially elected by the council itself. The number of people on the council is determined by a percentage of the amount of citizens who own land. As most land is leased, the number is relatively few, currently standing at about 110 elders. To become an elder, a person must first have served in the army, then work in multiple public positions such as public relations officer (in charge of making sure the people are satisfied) and city management officer (in charge of maintaining public buildings). They must also have a clean record and have recommendations from 5 previous or current elders, as well as the king.

Industry & Trade

Trekonila's main natural resource is lumber. However, it's also has very efficient mining techniques, giving it the lead against the other kingdoms. It sells wood, stone, and iron in return for food and processed goods.

History

Trekonila was founded in 218 PS by a prince of the king.

Architecture

Most buildings are wooden, as wood is very plentiful. The wealthy are able to hire carpenters to decorate their house while the rest of the people live in simple one or two room houses.

Geography

It is surrounded by a forest, but most of the trees near the city have been cleared.

Natural Resources

The dense forest that surrounds Trekonila provides plenty of lumber for the entire island. While mining, iron has been found to be plentiful as well.
