Ashanaer Whiskey (æʃ-ɛn-ɑr wɪs-ki)

Ashanaer Whiskey is a prized spirit from Ashanah brewed and distilled primarily from Filerom, a bittersweet plant that didn't grow well beyond its native land.
The rich, dark, gold spirit tastes of golden chocolate with a honey-like bittersweetness from the Filerom seeds, with a smoky, fiery aftertaste that warms the imbiber down to the bones.

History

Ashanaer Whiskey is a traditional and storied spirit of the Sonqar people of Ashanah, who brewed it to serve in most of their ceremonies and rites. According to legend, their people once bled Nalea herself to partake of her divine essence during their sacred feasts until the great wyrm Kusitatu taught them how to cultivate Filerom and Fo Root.
After the harvest, Kusitatu returned and taught them to make Ash Ennaer Ayred, or the Milk of the Sacred Heart. This beverage is brewed and fermented, resulting in a thick, creamy liquor that lingers on the palette for hours after imbibing.
As the story goes, Iyrandrar Genqen was the first to distill the sacred Ash Ennaer Ayred into Ashanaer Whiskey.
