The Red Thirst

The Red Thirst, also called vampirism, is a hybrid set of arcane and genetic afflictions that cause a being to transform into a vampire. While the disease's inner workings are roughly understood, why its parts never appear separately or where it originates is not. While it gives the afflicted a heightened magical aptitude, increased physical prowess, a supernatural charm and sometimes even wings, it gives them a reliance on, and often addiction to the blood of sentient creatures.

Transmission & Vectors

The Thirst is an altering of the genes. A primary host contracts the disease through unknown means, after which the altered genes can be passed on through reproduction.

• Distinct, luminous eyes
• Sharp fangs
• Increased dexterity and magical aptitude
• A physical inability to produce necesarry proteins and amino acids
• A drastically increased rate of Souldrinking Addiction
• Crystalline wings and appendices (primary hosts only)
