The Android State
The young new Android State was a part of The Empire; A scrapheap, where old and broken machines were turned to scrap; Androids included. In short; this region was nothing more than a dumping ground. Problem is; Imperial Androids were (still are, really) quite sturdy, and many reactivated or were otherwise still operational after being sent here. Many tried to escape their recycling, and managed to hide in the spaces not so closely watched by the Empire. As the Void Age died down, and this part of the galaxy was mostly abandoned, those androids that survived there built their own civilization, using the scrap and parts left behind. The Android State was born.
Before long, however, hierarchy took root; high-functioning androids established themselves as a government over the "lower-class"; android barely held together with metal and scrap, the newly-emerging species of Scrapdroid. Scraptraders, scavengers and inventors emerged to create wealth and laws were put in place. With the Empire withdrawing further and further, though, this hierarchy grew weaker and weaker. The Great War left much of the states desolate, a Dark Sector, but did open a window for revolution. Nowadays, the states are democratic, and a safe-haven for androids fleeing discrimination. Living conditions are still not great, however, and many androids here still barely manage to make a living for themselves.
