Freefall

While not the most directly powerful polity in the Corvelle Subsector, Freefall is nonetheless an essential link in the subsector's chain of operation as the main port of entry, the peak technological base of the region, and its seat of power.
Freefall itself is a massive complex of hollow rings partially nested within each other, each simulating a different degree of gravity with its spin. Most residents live in one standard G, but support for other strains of adaptation is present. The central axle, on the other hand, is a near-zero-gravity industrial complex dedicated to shipyards and mass production of goods. It also holds the only location on the station using artificial gravity: the personal estate of the Duke of Crossroads.
Surrounding the Freefall complex is a network of hollowed asteroids bridged together, considered part of the station yet socially distinct. Here lives the underclass, the wealth of people who make the upscale life of ring-dwellers possible.
Under the Duke's eye, Freefall is a fairly secure station; owning personal weapons is generally discouraged, but allowed, so long as they pose no risk to the station structure.
