Sand Snake

Most of the credit goes to Doc for creating the hybrid of sandworm and green dragon and providing the DnD stats for such a monster.   The original concept of a sand snake (a reptile not a worm) belongs to Anise.
This is a massive reptilian beast that holds dragon ancestry.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Sand Snake's are massive creatures that reach lengths of 64ft and above. The beast, though typically travels underground, has four eyes, two on each side. Despite having dragon ancestry it does not have limbs. It does have wings, but they do not allow fight. Instead, they can be used to kick up sandstorms for camouflage or to block out the sun should it become too hot. A sand snake's color various but most are a dark tan, brown or reddish-brown. There will be some variants with green or purple skin. The variants are typically affected mentally; Green has more intelligence while purple ones are dumb. They do hold a tail that can be used to slam into prey. Their fangs are massive and poisonous, and spines line their bodies.

Genetics and Reproduction

Sand snakes only breed once a year usually in January or February. The gestation period is generally around 120 days. They generally lay between 3 to 12 eggs. Eggs are then incubated for about 240 days.

Ecology and Habitats

The Sand Snakes will not leave the sands. Though they have the ability to burrow through solid stone and anything of lesser durability, their optimum environment is the desert.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They eat any warm-blooded thing that moves. They hunt frequently and make the sands unsafe to travel in for most species. When they can not find other food and are faced with starvation, they cannibalize their own.

Social Structure

They are solitary creatures and rarely if ever hunt together. The only time they may hunt together is if there are offsprings and the parents are desperate to feed them. The male will remain with the nest until the hatchlings mature to wyrmlings that can hunt on their own.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Their hide is thick and can be used to create armor. It also holds anti-poisonous properties. The fangs, claws, and spines can be used to create poisonous weapons.

They are extremely intelligent, surpassing the average intelligence of mortal men/women.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Sand Snakes hunt using vibrations in the ground. They can feel prey up to 10 miles away. Like ordinary snakes, a Sand Snake has a Jacobson's organ on the roof of it's mouth, allowing it to smell through use of a forked tongue.
