Crippled

A character drama set in an early-Renaissance-like period in a fantasy world, where magic has always existed, but has been rare, inspiring interest and fear. It is a story of youth finding its way forward, and how no one is beyond redemption.   It takes place within the Academy of Transcendental Learning - the first school of magic ever created, nearly 30 years prior. The main character, Vaun, is a 14-year-old boy whose dreams of becoming a knight are shattered when he sustains a knee injury that leaves him with a limp, but he finds his way to the Academy in a bid to find a new meaning to his life.   In this new place, he finds rivalry and fear, but a strong feeling of hope drives him onward to turn each enemy into a friend and each fear into an ally.
