WARDEN: Yeshir Ladoon

Yeshir Ladoon, daughter of an affluent herdsman. Yeshir could always read the patterns of the land, and empathize with what the Earth felt. Herdsmen in the Bizquil desert valued women very little. They were treated as basic chattel to be bargained. The bedouin had little need for a young lady who could construct earthworks. She was sold to Karkoz, yielding a hefty profit. Karkoz, however, did not buy her for resale. He fully intended to nurture her into a war machine capable of carving a path through the Ghost Archipelago.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Like all women of the bedouin, Yeshir has always been a second class citizen. She was cowed by men who could hit her at whim. Oddly, for all Krakoz's cruelty, he's tried to bolster Yeshir and nurture her confidence. It wasn't altruistic, rather a strong warden was much more effective than a meek one.

Sexuality

Prudish and withdrawn.

Education

Yeshir lacks formal education. The bedouin's oral tradition and lack of age segregation allowed Yeshir to learn much about life in the wild, to include medicine and husbandry.

Employment

The Ladoon Tribe and then Krakoz.

Accomplishments & Achievements

She once led the Ladoon to water and pastures when they suffered through a drought. This spared many of the herd.

Failures & Embarrassments

Yeshir was relied upon to find water during droughts. One particularly bad year, she did not and half the livestock died. This was the year she was sold to Krakoz. His large payment offset some of their losses.

Mental Trauma

Abandonment. Krakoz is not kind, but he's not cruel to her. Her status as warden has made her untouchable by other members of the war band. This is the most security she's ever known and she's developed a sort of Stockholm-like affinity toward Krakoz.

Intellectual Characteristics

In touch with the land. Can read the reactions of the land and its creatures.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

To maintain her protected status, free of arbitrary violence.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Can survive in barren wilderness, but struggles in metropolitan environs.

Virtues & Personality perks

Patient, enduring, and smart enough to survive in austere conditions.

Vices & Personality flaws

Gets lost in thought. Tries to deny problems rather than face reality.

Personality Quirks

Struggles to make eye contact when nervous. Too much eye contact when comfortable.

Social

Contacts & Relations

The Ladoon Tribe that sold her into slavery.

Family Ties

None outside the Ladoon.

Religious Views

Spirits of Fire and Earth, but officially, Ishtar, Moon Goddess and patron god of all Asfa'haris.

Social Aptitude

Withdrawn. She's attractive and sought by men, however she usually recuses herself. She's more comfortable alone on the land and absorbing nature.

Mannerisms

Constantly looking at others in metropolitan social situations to avoid faux pas. She's totally comfortable in the wild and doesn't hesitate to lead.

Hobbies & Pets

She's especially good with desert animals.

Speech

Yeshir has a soft voice and mumbles when nervous.

History

Krakoz paid 1.5 talents of gold to the Ladoon Tribe for Yeshir. The amount was a decade's salary for the commoner and the Ladoon accepted it greedily for their magic-imbued daughter. Krakoz's coarse nature used to hurt Yeshir, but her protected status in his crew fostered a desire to please Krakoz. The Heritor did not seem to desire Yeshir, rather, he used her as a weapon, honing her abilities at every opportunity.
