RoSD Mission: Oracle of Tsasai

Unlike the drug-induced teens used in Dricheam, the Oracle at Tsasi is rumored to be a beautiful woman with auburn hair and pale gray eyes who resides on a small, rocky isle crag of Tsasai, which is surround by denizens of the sea. Meeting her is not impossible, but it's best to go well armed.   She can stare into a man's eyes and see his soul, yet he'll be put at ease, fully relaxed, and desire to repeat the experience when she is done. The Oracle requires payment for her fortunetelling.   IVE: Consult the Oracle   Scenario 1: Rough Seas   The skies are gray with low dark clouds and the seas choppy.   Table should be 3'x'3' of deep water with a shore 6" long with 6" of shallow water before the shore. Place a shark and two needle fish randomly in the water (we use D20" from the center of the table with directional die). Heroes start on the far side from the shore.   The seas are rough, so losers in combat while in the boat suffer a further -1 for rolls to see if they fall overboard. Shooting from the boats suffer an additional -1.   Event Phase:   1- Kraken Tentacle spawns randomly. And you know how these are, an additional tentacle appears 10+ each turn. 2-3 Reef! Boat takes D6 damage 2-3 Shark arrives from a random table edge 4-10 Random Denizen based on your on your models 10-14 wind blows your ship D6 in random direction 16-18 Clue spotted, randomly spawns D20" from center 19-20 Treasure spotted (floating corpse? Chest? dead mythological beast with fancy teeth?)   SCENARIO 2- The Climb   Up the crags you go. Follow the rules for Descent Into Darkness (page 116), except you're going uphill. Feel free to replace the flies with screamer monkeys.   SCENARIO 3- The Oracle   The sky is filled with circling razorbeaks. They are gliding slowly, spiraling ever downward. Their shadows whip across the land as the party bolts for the ruined tower.   SETUP: The table is 3x3, with a small tower or cave in the middle. Terrain should be rocky with cliffs. Vegetation should be present, but minimized. The party may start within 6” of any edge. The scenario lasts 12 turns.   Three razorbeaks are circle counterclockwise, each 10” from the tower. It’s a lazy path, moving only 6” per turn. If the razorbeaks activate with a warrior within 8” of it and in sight (account for altitude) it will swoop down and enter combat.   Objective Reach the Oracle and escort or carry her off the map.   Before you start, roll a die and see what the Oracle is doing. Check your result on the NOTES button of this page, next to METADATA.   Each event phase roll:   1–4 add a razorbeak to the circulation. If you don’t have additional, immediately replace the first one slain/ driven off.   5-7 The closest razorbeak moves 6” toward the closest warrior, possibly entering combat.   8-9 razorbeak not in circulation divebombs a random warrior. Place in combat and resolve in the next turn.   10-15 Fear- the shadows are too much. A random warrior takes a Leadership TN8 or loses the next activation.   16-20 Clue- something sparkles among the rocks. Placed D10” from table’s center.     CLUE CHART:   1-2 Trap! Traps TN7 (+3exp) or suffer a +0 attack; Traps Roll 1-2, its poisoned.   3-5 Corpse with backstory (3exp, +1exp if you come up with an intriguing backstory)   6 Discarded Message (3exp, Read Runes TN8 +2exp, +1 exp for describing the contents)   7-8 Flora (2 exp, Survival TN7 gain herbs)   9 Fauna <animal teeth, bones, pearl, etc> (2exp, Survival TN7 +1PP)   10 Herbs or Potion +3exp   11 Javelin   12-13 Track Incoming Flight Pattern (Tracking TN8 +1F, +2Damage on nearest enemy for first round of combat, +1PP)   14 A note seeking love advice from Tsasai (2exp Read Runes TN7 +4exp and you feel awkward, +1PP)   15 Message of Distress (2exp Read Runes TN5, +2exp; reader gets third activation 1st turn of next scenario).   16-17 Dusty Tome +1exp (Ancient Lore TN12; reader gains +1Damage against 1 enemy type, +3PP)   18-20 Treasure!
