The Oracle has been made to talk, by bribes, freedom, seduction, intoxication or torture. If you come up with a method and description, then add plus 1 to your roll. If you sacrifice a specialist crewman, add +2 to the roll. Roll of 1 always fails.
1-4 Cursed!! Your specialists ALL leave you. You can hire new ones. 5-8 Despised by the gods as a cheat. You must sell equipment at 1/3 less than normal price to make amends and placate the gods FOR ALL TIME. At least until they are placated. Roll after each time you sell, on a 15-20, they're placated. 9-12 Insignificant- the gods haven't even noticed you. 13-14 AFFINITY! A god wishes to protect you. When you next return to the mainland, you pick a settlement that venerates the god who has an affinity for you. The provide you a free ship upgrade of 600 gc to appease their diety. 15-16 CHERISHED- Venus is sent from the deep with a magical weapon / armor for you. 17-18 LOVE- the god gives you +1M, +1F, +1S, +2W, or +2 health permanently. Roll randomly. Can take you above normal limitations. 19-20 Immune to Poseiden's Wrath
