The Falorant Mountains

The Falorant Mountains is a location in the north of the Etrian empire, near the northern oceans, which is fairly significant to the empire today. It was a Dwarven settlement, and whilst Dwarves still live in the location, they are now mainly used as manual labour by the human settlers who have come to the region since it was claimed by the empire. Instead, the mountain is now in the control of humans from the empire.   Myths and prophecies surround the location, and are often connected to the myth about the fall of the etrian empire, which is said to be due to occur in the 1890's, with a major part of its fall apparently supposed to occur on one of the tallest mountains in the mountain range.

Geography

The Falorant Mountains are a mountain range, with access to water. It is located south of the ocean.   Geologically, the range is located on a collision boundary, which runs from north to south, which is the majority of what has enabled the growth of huge mountains. The mountains have also been further grown artificially by dwarven practitioners.

Natural Resources

Many natural resources can be mined from within the mountains, such as minerals and rocks. These are very useful to the development of the empire.

History

The mountains were home to a Dwarven settlement for many hundreds of years, and whilst Dwarves still live in the location, they are now mainly used as manual labour by the human settlers who have come to the region since it was claimed by the empire   Many dwarves have left the area behind, moving to new areas both within and, if possible, outside of the Empire's influence. Leaving the empire is harder than moving to other parts of it, though, which has meant that less dwarves have left than stayed.
