Trevalia was an intersex person, one of the few in recorded history that has verifiably both fathered and borne children themselves. An androgynous beauty, they were in high demand amongst others in the nobility that wished to experience 'something different'.

Personal history

Diamante Trevalia was a legendary socialite of the Etoile Capital City in the era of the First Princeps. Born an intersex child to nobility, they were raised as male and trained at arms, undergoing The Arming Display and entering in service as an Officer of the Principality in 661. 
Of more interest to bards is their sex life. Trevalia was considered a great beauty of the time when presenting either as male or female, and once they made their status publicly known, they were the subject of pursuit by many an adventurous man or woman. This was reciprocated in kind; Trevalia was noted to have a voracious and insatiable appetite, and on the days where they weren't with a partner, they were a common sight on the Scarlet Block, women and men in hand walking the streets towards another tryst.
Tales of their adventures in the streets and manors of the Capital became legendary, not least of which is because Trevalia is known to have fathered at least eleven children and themselves gave birth to three more (in one tale, planting their seed in a woman while themself visibly and hugely pregnant). Trevalia wrote an incomplete autobiography before falling victim to a lover's quarrel, being struck down by a man they rendered cuckolded.
The sadder tale is the fall of Trevalia's house; the only heir to Trevalia was a spendthrift and a gambler, and dividing what remained of their estate among fourteen illegitimate children ended the noble line.

Gender Identity

Although raised as male and taught to bind their chest as a child, Trevalia embraced their nature as an adult, choosing on alternate days to walk the capital in either the clipped fitted shirt of an Officer of the Principality or in a sundress with leather corset, to accentuate their chest. Those who did not know of Trevalia's intersex status found it shocking, but it was generally reasoned that there was no particular set of gender norms an intersex person would be expected to follow, and thus no opprobrium was merited.

Sexuality

Trevalia was as an adult well known to be intersex in the circles of nobility; they were personally interested in anyone and everyone, and cut a swath through the social clubs and salons of the Capital.
