Gwybod Scholar Rite of passage

When a scholar becomes a Gwybod scholar they have achieved the highest level of academia and are unlimited in terms of knowledge they can receive and the magic that they can tap into. On average a Gwybod scholar in training and learning for 10 years more than the rank below. When they are ready to become a Gwybod scholar there is a series of trials that they must complete, these all are dangerous to the caster so that it works as a deterrent from those that are trying to gain knowledge.   The first step is for them to sacrifice a part of themselves to each of the elements. Taking 4 vials of their blood they give a vial each to the elements (not including magic). The corresponding elements have specific spells that need to be cast they are: Fire- they must soak their blood into the wood that will be lit on fire then as they light the fire they must recite the chant that binds their connection to knowledge and magic to that element. Wind- They must create a wind tornado that gathers their blood before sending it to each corner of the earth (not physically just metaphorically) so that it may join the winds from the north, south, east and west. They must also recite the chant whilst doing this. Water- They must get water and purify it so that it’s in its raw form then mix their blood into it so that they can become one with water, they must also recite the chant. Earth- They must dig a small pit in the ground then pour their blood into the well they’ve made. Once it as all been soaked in, they must fill the hole back in and then recite the chant that will make them one with earth.   Once these 4 rituals have been completed the second step is to meditate for anywhere between 4-6 hours solidly this is to fully allow the connection to the elements to develop. And to create a clear mind for the final stage.   The final step is at midnight of a supermoon, then the moon is at its fullest. They perform one of the most difficult divination spells that will give the caster a vision, of which they cannot control or direct. This final stage is the most dangerous as the person that is casting the spell cannot control the spell if they do not have the boundaries set and the energy/ power capable the spell will burn straight through them and can kill them. Even to the most experienced of casters and scholars they need days and sometimes weeks to recover from this spell. The vision that it grants them can be anything from their future and something to direct them, a warning or a past event. There is nothing that can determine what it will be, most Gwybod scholars spend the rest of their days trying to understand what their vision means.
