Shortcliff

An elderly Kember from god knows where, Shortcliff is the defacto leader of Kembertown, a small and mostly unwelcome gypsy village outside Elamery. Shortcliff became the “mayor” because, well, he is the oldest (most Kembers don’t live too long) and therefore assumed to be the wisest. He has a surprisingly good relationship with Egalia Kelvor, especially after the three to four dozen Kembers helped to successfully defend the town from the last attack of the Blackfangs, losing six of their own in battle. Always seen with a pipe emitting bright green smoke between his teeth--even while he speaks--Shortcliff is nearly blind but still sharp-witted and sharp-tongued. One has a feeling that he can almost be trusted...
