Chariot Squares

In stark contrast to the purely strategic grid square games common in Northern Caledon (Region) and the Mugta Peninsula, there is no strategy that is fool-proof as every move is dependent on the casting of lots.

History

Being the oldest game still played, it originated in the equatorial delta region. It was recently imported to Caledon (Region) by the Gailnach. It can also be observed at major ports of the Cyrian Empire.

Execution

  1. Each player selects their game tokens and then casts the rods.
  2. Whoever has more white sides facing up will make the first move.
  3. Players take turns attempting to move their pieces from the start square to the finish square.
  4. First player to get all game tokens to the end of the board wins
  5. Players are not allowed to land on squares already occupied by their own tokens
  6. If a player lands on the token of the opposing player, the opposing player's token is sent back to the starting point
  7. There are 5 squares embossed with a chariot wheel, these squares are safe from enemy attack and landing on one grants an extra roll of the rods
  8. Rolling a zero or not having any legal moves will result in a player's turn being skipped
