Alchemical Demonmancy

What is Alchemical Demonmancy?

Alchemical Demonmancy is the power to summon and use the element associated with a Demon. The user or as they like to call themselves, Demonologists, calls upon the demon that is connected to the alchemical elements and forms it in the world. The Demonologist can then control the demon and be able to use the element that is connected to the summoned demon.

Who Uses Alchemical Demonomancy?

While the main users of Alchemical Demonmancy like to be called and consider themselves Demonologists, a "Demon Mage" as they are sometimes called is a reasonable title for them as well.

What Are The Elements of Alchemical Demonmancy?

Alchemical Demonmancy elements that the Demonologist can use is fairly simple: Air, Fire, Earth, Water, and Spirit. These elements have a heirarchy of what is the most strongest and abundant of the element. Spirit is highest where as Air is at the bottom.

How Do You Summon?

How the Demonologist summons the demon is by focusing on which demon they want to summon, from the Drake to the Wraith or other demon choices, and conjure them. They do this with a pentacle that they focus their energies into, the energy will then take the form of the element and then the demon. Once the demon is out, both the demon and the Demonologist know what to do via a telepathic link and go from there. The Demon can fight while the Demonologist uses the core spells with the remaining energies.

How Does It Differ From Alchemical Spellogy?

Alchemical Demonmancy differs from Alchemical Spellogy quite a bit, first off in the way how the core Spells are cast and how the Mages and Demonologist use the elements. Demonologists use the Alchemical elements to summon demons where as Mages use the alchemical elements for just the core spells. While performing Alchemical Demonmancy, you don't need the element for the usage of the Core Spells. While for Alchemical Spellogy, you need something of the element to perform the Core Spells.

Demons of Alchemical Demonmancy

The Demons of Khallimare are a massive part of the Alchemical Demonmancy as well, what kind of demon summoning magic would it be if it didn't have the demons. The Demons, that the Demonologist summons, correspond with the Alchemical Element. A Manticore would be considered of the earth element. While a Drake would be of the Element of Fire. A Banshee would be of the Element of Spirit, while the Siren would be of the Element of Water.

Greater and Lesser Demons

So with Alchemical Demonmancy, the Demonologist must consider what kind of Demon they want to summon, a Greater or a Lesser demon. A Gryphon would be a Greater Demon, taking a lot out of the Demonologist to summon, whereas an Imp could be summoned without batting an eye since Imps are a Lesser Demon.

Societal Views on Alchemical Demonmancy

Most Mages, citizens, and other such uses besides Demonologists consider Alchemical Demonmancy to be a "forbidden art" or a "path that none want to go down." While Alchemical Demonmancy is one of the most difficult out of the two Alchemical Craft, the Demonologist that have practiced and controlled the Alchemical Demonmancy craft are one of the best Mages around.
While on the Demonologist's perspective, they consider Alchemical Demonmancy to be a higher and more direct form of the Alchemical Craft. They view Alchemical Spellogy as a lesser Alchemical Craft, for the fact that it doesn't have it where the Mage focuses on not only the demon but the Core Spells as well. Where Alchemical Spellogy, the Mage has to have preperation in order to cast any of the Core Spells.

Manifestation

When a Demonologist uses Alchemical Demonmancy, they have a sudden surge of energy and harness that energy into the Pentacle where the surge of energy gathers into a ball. The ball of energy will then start to take form into the Demon of the desired choice. The bigger the demon the more time it takes for it to form.   Examples of a summoning would be where the Demonologist needs to summon a demon, so they choose to summon an Imp. They take out their pentacle, or if the pentacle is on the Demonologist's hand they extend their hand. The Imp's element is of Air, the wind will crawl along the Demonologist's arm or, if the Demon Mage is experience with Alchemical Demonmancy, any part of their body touching it. The air will congeal into a ball above the Pentacle and begin to take shape of the Imp.
Another example of this would be if the Demon Mage wanted to summon a Gryphon, a Greater Demon. They would do the same proccess again, a Gryphon's element being Air. The time of summoning a Gryphon would be closer to two minutes of constant channeling into the Pentacle for the Gryphon to form.
