Imperial Army Squad
A squad is composed of 24 Legionaries, the rank-and-file soldiers of the Imperial Army. They are organised into companies, grand companies, and legions, but even a single squad is capable of amazing feats.
Composition
Manpower
24 Legionaries or Initiates.
Weaponry
9mm rail-rifles, laser pistols, plasma grenades, force-field swords and knives.
Structure
The squad consists of 20 legionaries, 3 corporals, and a sergeant. The squad can operate as 4 separate fireteams, each lead by an officer.
Tactics
The Imperial Army uses a wide variety of tactics, even at the squad level. As a general rule, however, they rely on mobility, coordination, and their individual superiority to bring down enemies, communicating worldlessly through their implants and spontaneously forming and breaking formations to maintain optimal position and keep control of the battlefield while confusing and disorienting their enemies.
Training
Even an initiate has recieved six years of intensive training on everything from combat to maintenance to politics to physics before ever setting foot on the battlefield. A Legionary has continued their training and combined it with hundreds of hours of battlefield experience. Even once they reach this point, the training continues until the soldier dies or retires. The average Imperial Legionary is trained beyond the point of special forces in most militaries.
Logistics
Upkeep
Each soldier recieves a daily pay of $12 ISD (roughly $500 FSD) along with food and ammunition.
Recruitment
The formation is composed of rank-and-file infantry, drawn from regular citizen soldiers.
