Force Field Weaponry

Force fields are a valuable and powerful technology, not just because of their defensive ability but because of their potential lethality. Force fields amplify outgoing force, letting a fist break apart another man's skull, a sword cut through ballistic cloth like paper, or a polearm smash through armour and vehicles alike with frightening ease. This technology can also be implemented in warheads, with generators installed to rapidly create a powerful force field. A powerful force field is likely to burn out a small generator very rapidly, but by the time it does so, the enemy has already been smashed to bits by what can almost be called a solid shockwave.

Force Fields, even as emergency defensive mechanisms, are quite rare outside of military starships due to their high cost. Force fields are part of weaponry are even rarer, and only used by the luxuriously wealthy or by militaries with a strong focus on a powerful melee force.
