Geographic Origin and Distribution
Badgerfolk make their homes in a variety of environments and display a wide range of cultures.
In the Acronian Sea, they primarily inhabit the Pebble Islands. Here they live in a hierarchy of tribe like clans, where they engage in ancestor worship, gerontocracy, adherence to traditional values, and live simple lives fishing for survival. Elder councils convene amongst the different clans and engage in diplomacy when needed with larger nations. They have been subjected to Hekrosian expansionalistic attempts, which they resisted in favor of independence, and since then the native Badgerfolk cheifs have signed a treaty with Hekros to guarantee their sovereignty. This has been the cause of recent criticism amongst younger members of the tribes as the region has been invaded by Xagolae slaver vessels which they believe could have been prevented if they had been afforded protection by the Kritarchy.
In Nevvalair, they reside in two locations. The first is a sparsely populated group of hunter clans on the highly volcanic Beckenshard Islands. Here they have domesticated several of the dinosaur species that live their for mounts, ranching, or as pets, and primarily hunt avian fauna and farm grains such as wheat. They are the only permanent, sapient inhabitants of the island; having adapted to life there, no other group has cared to fight the hardened soldiers, or their ferocious mounts, for what few resources the islands deliver.
The second group in Nevvalair dwells deep in the mainland's Sanctogorn Forest, an enchanted wood in the central region of the continent. They are a small tribe of druids, and are rumored by outsiders to serve the forest's fey, or perhaps even an angel of the woods, and fiercely protect their territory.
In Unitia, unlike many other locations where they inhabit island like terrains, they dwell in high, snowy mountaintops and arctic environments, where they mine and often contend with local Dwarven kingdoms and Goliath communities.
In Entrophion, like so many other social groups on the continent since the Fall of the Elder Stone, the once settled Badgerfolk villages have turned completely nomadic in search of resources in the ruined, desert landscape.
Finally, in Poslool, where as the coast was once scattered with many Badgerfolk fishing settlements, they were all killed during the Fall of the Elder Stone.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
It is well documented that many Badgerfolk communities have historically had excellent relations with the more nomadic Tortoisefolk. This phenomenon has puzzled many scholars, as the two species seem to have no symbiotic reason to have grown so close, yet they seem to always excel in diplomatic relations with one another, including fighting alongside each other in times of war or conflict. Badgerfolk will aid Tortoisefolk in gathering resources and constructing their nesting camps, and Tortoisefolk will carry and deliver supplies between distant Badgerfolk tribes. Each individual has his reasons for trusting the other species, but from an outsider's point of view they are simply and inexplicably compatible worldwide.
