Acronian Sea

The Acronian Sea is a region of Craedock just south of the equator, located in a central area between several other prominent regions such as Nevvalair and Poslool. Civilizations within its borders follow a city-state structure, and the capital city will often have domain over and act as the protectorates of a number of surrounding rural settlements. Political power will rest in the capital, and the smaller settlements, regardless of how they are perceived, function as vassals, offering tribute via taxes, tithes, or natural resources in exchange for military protection, disaster relief, and governance. A state such as this commonly takes the name of its capital. Within the last few centuries, philosophy has reached and passed a golden age, signalling the revolutionary downfall of many historical monarchies and leaving a wide variety of government types to make up the political environment of Craedock. They are so varied, residents will often refer to a foreign state by its government type instead of its full name: “the Stratocracy” for Xagolae, “the Theocracy” for Sprigstein, etc… The most influential state in the region is Acron, also the last surviving monarchy. It is a kingdom famous beyond just the borders of the Acronian Sea and throughout all of Craedock.
