WARNING: This article contains unmarked spoilers. Read at your own risk!   Kody Morrison is one of the main characters of Cosmic Warrior Hua Mulan. Like Mulan, he disguises himself as a Yuraalian in order to join the Yuraalian Army, where he is known by the alias Private Zomokka. Alongside Mulan, he is one of the two heroes who destroys the Mothership, thereby saving Yuraal from the Grid.

Personal history

"Yeah, I've got a sketchy past. Loads of people do."
When Kody was a child, he was recruited as a cabin boy by Eliezer Morrison—the most notorious pirate captain of the Mad Marauders, after only Lev Ryder himself. (The shared surname is no coincidence: Kody refers to Captain Morrison as "the dad I never had" and, when asked how he persuaded Captain Ryder to help the Yuraalians, explains that "being Eliezer Morrison's kid probably helped". Kody's actual surname by birth is Kastner.)   Kody spent the next several years aboard Morrison's ship, first as a cabin boy, then as a full-fledged pirate, until a chance encounter with a Grid-controlled ship turned tragic. The Grid ship (which was more powerful) attacked unprovoked and ignored Morrison's surrender, forcing him to retreat and attempt an emergency landing on Yuraal, the nearest planet. However, the ship was too badly damaged. It crashed, killing Morrison and most of his crew. Kody survived, but the crash left him stranded on Yuraal with no ship, captain, or crew.

Accomplishments & Achievements

In Cosmic Warrior Hua Mulan, Kody successfully persuades Captain Ryder, leader of the Mad Marauders, to lend his aid in the Yuraalians' assault on the Mothership. He then finds Mulan (whose life he saves) and accompanies her to the heart of the ship, where together they destroy the mainframe, triggering the ship's self-destruction and saving Yuraal. Upon returning to Yuraal, the Empress names them both war heroes and awards them each a medal.

Social

Contacts & Relations

He and Mulan have a contentious relationship throughout the story, which he considers a "friendly rivalry". She finds him insufferable, although she has a grudging respect for him by the end.   He is shown to have notable influence with the Mad Marauders, which he attributes to being the adoptive son of Ryder's best captain.
