Utstralåndi (Oot Strah Lahn Di)

Glory under Her eyes, and Guidance by the distant voices beyond the Auroras in the sky, Utstralånde is founded on the golden valor that fuels the Draigifolk. Sailing from their land of origin, the folk trailing with the Sanctaidd line found themselves grounded ashore on the coasts of the Southern Shattered Isles. Setting up hearth and home, they found themselves greeted by it's unsavory inhabitants, the frost and hill giants occupying most of the continent's population. These folk were quick to name a king, he who stood above them day and night to reaffirm their destiny, to keep them close as a colony. Their gods were no match for their gilded hearts, what chance did the giants stand?   Axe met flesh and blood met soil; the Utstrålandi tribes blazed across the countryside, bringing the fight to any and every giant they crossed. What set them apart from other clans was their conviction and faith, hearing the words of their goddess as if the world around them had a heartbeat, while this was a rare circumstance, it bolstered the masses and imbued her faithful with great strength. With her guidance, they cleared the country for miles around to lay claim to their new home, a right believed to be given to them by the Eggmother; and raised the coastal city of Sjøfyr.       Draigi culture has always manifested as a representation of draconic might and unified strength- something held closer by Utstrålandians, taking the form of special globe-like crystals laid in armor, on clothes, as accessories and in household furnishing. These crystals bear a magic most of their heritage shares, the light of the Aurora, a godlike force that closed their land of origin off from the world. Dubbed Auroric, the magic itself comes from the individual, and thus is a guage and measurement of the users willpower. However extensive training on evoking and abjuring this innate magic also plays a part into who of the Utstrålandi better wields this force.   In older days, this measure of willpower would decide the jarls to rule over their clans- but come now with civilization, a more refined ideal decides their king. Fördelvir grew from a young boy with a mild understanding of this power, and self taught himself to harness it through his emotions, as it is a more common practice. He serves his people as Highlord, utilizing his charisma and tactical thinking to unite his people, and has his sights set on not only the giants that still threaten his home, but the undead threat of the Glom'ossian clans neighboring his mountainous country.   While less primitive than their cousins, the Utstrålandi clans still keep their priorities set to conquering and warfare.
